California processing-tomato trial field

Heat and water stress
shouldn’t cost you the crop.

Skeepon is a biostimulant that helps plants withstand heat, drought, and salt stress—so your stand establishes, survives the hottest part of the season, and yields. Commercialized, field-proven, and registered for use in California.

How it works

Skeepon changes the plant, not the field.

Most inputs try to manage the environment around a plant. Skeepon works differently: it prepares the plant itself to handle stress before it hits.

When plants lose water, they naturally produce acetic acid—a signal that switches on their own drought-survival machinery. Skeepon delivers that same signal safely, so the plant “remembers” how to tolerate drought and responds faster and more strongly when heat and water stress arrive.

This mechanism was discovered by our founding scientists and published in Nature Plants.

The active ingredient is acetic acid—the same acid found in vinegar, a familiar, food-registered substance that’s absorbed by the plant and broken down by soil microbes. Skeepon is a biostimulant: not a pesticide, not a fertilizer. It fits your existing program.

Heat & drought tolerance

Plants hold up through the hottest, driest stretch of the season.

🌱

Better establishment

Stronger transplant survival and stand—even in tough conditions.

💧

More crop per drop

Maintain yield under reduced irrigation.

Results

Proven in the field—starting with processing tomatoes.

In a California trial where tomatoes were transplanted during the hottest part of the year, Skeepon-treated plants yielded about 30% more than untreated controls.

“While other products try to change the environment around the plant, Skeepon changes the plant itself. It reduced transplant shock and helped with heat.”

Beyond tomatoes—results across many crops

Results vary by crop, field, season, and conditions. Trial results shown are from Ac-Planta and partner field trials; some are preliminary. Trial-partner names and full data shown with permission.

Easy to apply

Simple to use, fits how you already work.

No new equipment, no complicated program. Skeepon goes on as a transplant drench in the greenhouse and through your existing fertigation or chemigation in the field. Here’s exactly how.

About

A California team, backed by proven science.

Ac-Planta brings a commercialized plant-science breakthrough to U.S. growers. Our technology began as award-winning research—published in Nature Plants—into how plants survive drought, and it’s now used commercially across multiple seasons.

Today we’re partnering with California growers, advisors, and universities to bring that same resilience to fields facing hotter, drier seasons and rising water costs.
